The composition of four Vedas Rig veda Sam Ved Yajur Veda And Atharva veda is the example of extraordinary progress our ancestors has made back that time.
Our knowledge about Ayurveda was famous in world and India was looked upon World Guru for acquiring Knowledge.
The Famous University of Taxila is the live example of the advancement in knowledge by ancient India.it was founded in 370 BCE. Greek invaders arrived during the 4th century BCE. According to Joseph Needham: "When the men of Alexander the Great came to Taxila ... they found a university there the like of which had not been seen in Greece, a university which taught the three Vedas and the eighteen accomplishments and was still existing when the Chinese pilgrim Fa-Hsien went there about AD 400.
Taxila has Produced the person like Chanakya who had crowned the Chandragupta maurya the King by defeating Nanda. Chanakya is considered the greatest strategist world has ever seen. His book Arthashastra is the example of his extraordinary Vision and talent.
The next big name from Taxila is Ayurvedic Healer Charka .The following statement is attributed to Acharya Charaka:
Even today generations fails to understand that how come ancient people advanced so much in the knowledge of Ayurveda.many more notable scholars are the production of this once so great university.So if we were so rich in terms of knowledge and science then how come we left so behind in all branches of knowledge.

Some people blames it to the foreign attacks according to them foreigners attacked our temple and all scriptures were used to keep in temples. So they destroyed temples so did scriptures. It is said that most of the part of Rig Veda which is thought to compose around 1500 BCE and is the oldest book of world was destroyed and except few verses everything is rewritten in later period. As earlier there were only 8 Mandalas in rig veda later on it had 2 more added and it became 10.
Some has the opinion that it goes back to Britishers, to have control on Indians they made us to look down on our scriptures presented it as a myth. Because Vedas knowledge was only meant for Brahmans only so it got centralized in few hands and it lost its development as every knowledge requires development at every stage to be updated.
Once the Vedas which Glorified the World With its Knowledge became an obslete article at home. and people got away from it and it became the source of worshiping only.
Even toady every household would have Geeta in home but how many of us have read it? the answer is very few of us has read it that too once or twice. Means we dont have any command over this knowledge. Since we don't have any knowledge of our Scriptures yet we are always ready to fight over it with other religion people. even toady Some THEKEDAAR of religion fooling people against other religion people which has resulted in communal violence in India many a times.
Then it makes us to go back to our root where Lord Buddha spent his full life teaching the lesson of Non- Violence. Where Mahatma Gandhi Freed us with the Non- Violence. Where Swami vivekananda dreamed about prosperous India.
